Welcome to After Hours by Devglan, a place for developers and technology professionals to talk honestly about work.
You don’t need a polished story or a positive experience to belong here. Frustration, criticism, awkward moments, and uncertainty are welcome. Share what happened from your perspective, protect people’s private information, and leave room for others to see things differently.

1. Share honestly
Tell us about the good days, difficult sprints, career questions, funny incidents, and lessons you have learned. Candid confessions and critical opinions are welcome, too.
You can name a company and share a negative experience. Describe what you experienced, make clear when you are expressing an opinion, and distinguish it from something you heard or assumed. One person’s experience may differ from another’s; After Hours does not independently verify every story.
Please do not present knowingly fabricated stories as real, impersonate someone, or invent allegations to damage a person’s or company’s reputation.
2. Protect privacy
Share enough context to tell your story while leaving out unnecessary details about private individuals. Avoid posting personal contact details, credentials, confidential customer information, proprietary code, trade secrets, or private messages and screenshots you do not have permission to share.
Sharing anonymously
Anonymous publishing lets you share without displaying your public account identity as the author. Devglan may still associate the contribution with your account internally. Company names, job titles, locations, and distinctive incidents can also give readers clues about who you are.
Before you post, check that you are comfortable with the details being public and have the right to share them. Public content may be copied or indexed by search engines. Our Privacy Policy explains more.
3. Disagree respectfully
Strong opinions are welcome. Personal attacks aren’t. Discuss actions, decisions, and workplace practices, and give others room to see things differently.
For example, “My manager often schedules meetings outside working hours” or “I felt the promotion process was unfair” helps people understand your experience. Threatening a colleague, sharing their private information, or encouraging others to target them does not.
We do not allow hate speech, discriminatory abuse, bullying, targeted harassment, threats of violence, sexual harassment, unwanted explicit sexual content, encouragement of self-harm or illegal activities, or attempts to expose an anonymous contributor’s identity.
Humor, sarcasm, and disagreement have a place here. Keep them from becoming abuse directed at another person.
4. Participate fairly
Use stories, confessions, comments, reactions, and polls to start useful conversations. Ask genuine questions, share your perspective, and offer support or advice when you can.
Please avoid spam, repeated promotional posts, automated or coordinated vote manipulation, and campaigns to target people or organizations. Polls should invite opinions rather than humiliate identifiable individuals.
Poll results reflect the people who chose to participate; they are not representative findings about a workplace or the wider community.
After Hours may use AI to suggest topics, moods, or other labels. These help with discovery, but can be inaccurate and may be adjusted. They do not verify a story, assess a company or individual as fact, or mean Devglan endorses the content.
5. Report concerns
If something seems to cross these boundaries, use the Report option on stories or comments, where available. Helpful reasons include harassment, exposed personal or confidential information, threats, impersonation, spam, or content that may infringe someone’s rights.
A report brings content to our attention; it does not automatically remove it. Different opinions and negative workplace experiences are welcome, so please do not use reporting simply because you disagree.
If you cannot use the reporting option, or have a privacy concern, you can contact us.
6. How moderation works
Moderation helps make room for honest conversations while protecting people from abuse and exposure of private information. Criticism or disagreement alone is not a reason to remove a story.
Reported content may be reviewed in context against these guidelines. Depending on the seriousness of the issue, repeated behavior, and potential harm, Devglan may restrict or remove content or limit an account’s participation. Serious or repeated violations may lead to account suspension or closure, and action may also be taken where legally required.
These expectations apply to everyone, whether they publish anonymously or with a public profile. Please share content you have the right to publish and respect others’ privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property.
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. The latest version will be available here.
Share your experiences. Respect other people. Keep the conversation meaningful.
